Project Glocal

A cross-cultural collaboration involving 30 artists from Manila, Bangkok, Hong Kong and Singapore, Project Glocal explores the similarities and differences of cityscapes of the four Asian cities. Led and curated by SIF programme alumna Dayang Yraola, it serves to chart the process in which artworks, artists and audiences interact beyond the series of exhibitions, even as it build relationships between people from different creative and social contexts.

The SIF-supported project, which features individual works by several SIF programme alumni, (Vichaya Mukdamanee, Michael Lee, Urich Lau, Tang Ling Nah and Joo Choon Lin) has travelled to several venues in Manila.

Its Singapore leg at DiverseCity, entitled DezipCoding, will include collaborative works envisioned during conversations between Project Glocal artists over the project timeframe. Derived from conjoining “decoding” and “zipcode”, DezipCoding signifies the readiness of Project Glocal artists to participate in blurring boundaries.
